The standard size of a basketball in the NBA is 29.5 to 29.875 inches (74.93 to 75.88 cm) in circumference.

• Shaquille O’Neal has only made one 3 pointer in his NBA career. This is fun because if I ever were to join the NBA, me and Shaquille would probably have the same number of 3 pointers made.
• The bird on the Twitter logo is named after Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics. The bird in the Twitter logo is called Larry, or more precisely, Larry the Bird. A well-known sports figure and American basketball legend named Larry Bird served as the basis for the bird's name. Basketball superstar Larry Bird spent the 1980s and 1990s playing for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. He was a part of the heyday of American basketball, along with Michael Jordan.
• The first basketball game was played in 1892 on a court that was half the size it is now. Coach James Naismith, a Canadian-American, created the sport. One point was scored during the 30-minute first game, which was played.
